Very rare species of tree in the family Sapotaceae, Native range from Panama to S. Tropical America and Trinidad. Medium to large tree, reaching up to 30 meters tall
The edible fruit is collected from the wild and sometimes sold in local markets, Orange fruits, up to 5cm in diameter, similar to Abiu (Pouteria caimito) fruit
Taste is a cross between star apple and Abiu, with very few to no latex, Typically has 2 seeds per fruit. Starts to fruit in 5 to 6 years from seed.
Fruit is eaten raw, with firm and sweet-tasting pulp

Traditionally used to treat fever, inflammation, skin eruptions, ulcers, and diabetes
