General Information:
Evergreen tree with a rounded crown and thick, pale branches. Usually grows up to 9 meters tall. Identical to the white sapote in growth and fruit flavor. The main difference is in appearance, with wooly-leaved sapote having a dense, white, furry underside to its leaves.
Uses: Gathered from the wild for its edible fruit, Cultivated for its fruit, Fruits can be eaten fresh, chilled in fruit salad, baked, or dried for later use
Medicinal Uses: Fruit eaten to lessen rheumatic pain, Decoction of leaves and seeds taken as tea to treat hypertension, anxiety, insomnia, and cramps
Leaves, bark, and seeds have sedative and mildly narcotic (hypnotic) action, Possess anti-spastic and anticonvulsive actions
