Common Name: White Rambai, also known as Rambai or Rambi.
Botanical Name: Baccaurea Motleyana.
General Information: White Rambai is a species of evergreen fruit tree native to parts of Southeast Asia, including Thailand and Malaysia. The fruit is almost round and turns brownish-yellow when ripe, without splitting.
Each seed is covered with an edible, sweet-tasting aril that can range from translucent white to purple. The flowers of the tree occur in long clusters on the branches or trunk.

Rambai fruits are good sources of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. They have relatively low amounts of fats, organic acids, phenolics, and antioxidants compared to many other familiar fruits.

Rambai plants enjoy a well drained, general potting mix, the tree requires 80-100% sunlight and young plants should be brought indoors during winters.

Uses/Benefits
The pulp is sweet to acid in taste. The tree is also used for shade and low-quality wood. The ripe fruit is consumed fresh and can be processed into juice, jams, organic vinegar, and wine. Its bark are used to treat stomach and eye diseases, respectively.
