Umari Fruit (Poraqueiba sericea) is a species of tree in the family Metteniusaceae. It is an evergreen, tropical, and fairly fast-growing tree native to South America and Peru. The fruits are gathered from the wild for local use of food . The rare, medium sized fruit having a passing resemblance to the mango. The fruits can grow to around 3-4" and ripen with yellow skin. Flesh is yellow-orange, aromatic, with a flavour often described as unique.
