The Sycamore fig aka (ficus Sycomorus) is a cousin of the common fig (ficus carica), and produces small pinkish color figs with a sweet fruity taste, similar to rambutan and honeydew flavor. This particular variety of sycamore fig is from Israel and is called "Shikma Balami". Self-fertile fig variety that does not require fig wasp pollination to produce ripe figs. Sycamore figs are one of the first plants cultivated by humans, and are mentioned several times in the Bible.
