Sugar salak is one of the popular types of salak. This type of salak is a cultivar of Balinese salak. This sugar snake fruit is sweeter than the other two types, namely Bali snake fruit and pondoh snake fruit from Yogyakarta, although they are the smallest in size. The shape is slightly round and there is a kind of small thorns on the skin. The flesh is thick and not covered with epidermis. This salak is called sugar salak, because the flesh is pure white. In addition, also because it tastes very sweet like sugar or much sweeter than the taste of ordinary salak fruit. Although still young, the flesh is already sweet. Because of that, sugar salak is very popular. Besides being sweet, it has a distinctive taste and feels cool.
