The Sonpari mango is an exceptional hybrid fruit, resulting from a cross between the renowned Alphonso (female parent) and Baneshan (male parent).1 This superior variety was developed by the Agricultural Experimental Station, Navasari, Agricultural University, Paria, in Gujarat, India.2 The trees exhibit vigorous growth, forming a dense, round canopy structure supported by sub-erect branches and dense foliage of lanceolate leaves. Sonpari is prized for its reliability, being a heavy and regular bearer. The fruit itself is typically round with an average weight ranging from 300 to 600 gms, often reaching about 550g. When fully ripe, the peel develops an attractive golden-yellow colour. Inside, the fruit boasts thick, fiber-less flesh that delivers an awesome taste and a super pleasant aromatic profile, characterized by an impressive sweetness level measuring between 24 to 26 Brix.
