General Information:

A species of tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to Southern South America (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, southern and eastern Brazil).

A deciduous tree with an open crown, reaching a height of 3 - 8 meters.

Edible fruits are sometimes gathered from the wild for local use, and it is occasionally cultivated in its native range for its edible fruit.

Slow-growing plants mainly found in the subtropics, just entering into the tropical zone.

Thrives in both sunny positions and dappled shade.

The subglobose, yellow fruits are about 35mm in diameter with juicy, succulent pulp and an acidic-sweet flavor.
