Sapotinha/ Pouteria Gardneri is a very rare fruit from the Sapotaceae family, native to America - Paraguay, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Brazil, and Bolivia. Succeeds in full sun and dappled shade. Found in the wild on well-drained clay soils and medium fertility soils The edible fruit is gathered from the wild and consumed locally. The fruit contains a single seed surrounded by a sweet, fleshy succulent pulp like jaboticaba. The fruit is about 2cm in diameter
