Plinia longiacuminata Live Plant

This is an ultra rare species discovered in the biodiverse region of Itacaré, Bahia, and is virtually unknown in cultivation. The tree grows as an understory plant, only 6-7 meters in height. The foliage is elongated, and similar to that of plinia rara. The fruits form on the trunk, like most Jaboticaba. They are first green, and then ripen to a beautiful rosy pink color. This Jaboticaba produces unusually large fruits, setting it apart from most species in the genus. The pulp is sweet, aromatic, and perfect for eating fresh out of hand.This specie is rarely available, so if you are lucky enough to get ahold of one of these plants, take great care of it.
