Pink fruiting Marcgravia Live Plant (Marcgraviastrum cuneifolium)

Marcgraviastrum cuneifolium grows in Minas Gerais mountains of Brazil. This unique species is particularly difficult to find in its fruiting stage, making a sighting of its reproductive cycle a special occasion. As the fruit matures, its protective outer shell eventually cracks open to reveal a vibrant, bright pink flesh that is surprisingly edible and delightfully sweet.
