General Information:
Erect evergreen shrub, Branched only at the base, Forms small clumps, Height: 70-90 cm. Found in the savannas of Central Brazil, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. The pulp is juicy with a sweet and tart flavor, reminiscent of a blend of strawberry and guava.
Leaves: Simple, leathery, glabrous, Gray-green in color, Length: 3-6 cm, Very short petiole
Flowers: Usually solitary and axillary White, long-pedunculated, Formed in September-October (Southern Hemisphere)
Fruits: Globose-flat, Yellow with thin skin. About 2-3 cm in diameter. Very succulent pulp with a pleasant sweet-acidic flavor, Contains 1-3 loose seeds. The fruit has a reddish-orange color when ripe.
