Description:
Nam Nam Fruit is a brownish-green, kidney-shaped fruit.
It is native to Malaysia and found in South East Asia, India, and Sri Lanka.
The fruit's surface is rough and wrinkled, and it contains one brown, flattened seed.
The fruit has juicy and aromatic yellow pulp, with a slightly sweet and acidic taste when ripe.

Planting and Care
Namnam grows well in wet tropical lowlands, it prefers full sun but tolerates shade, an annual rainfall of 1500-2000 mm and daily temperatures of 22-35 C are desirable, the tree resists wind.
Special Feature
The leaves boiled can be drunk to cure diabetes rock and streamline the flow of urine and it is also used to treat diarrhea.
Uses/Benefits
It is cooked with sugar to make compote, can also be made into a fruit salad, Pickle, or be used to prepare a sambal. The fruits have medicinal properties too and are used in folk medicinal preparation, the seeds yield oil which is used for the treatment of skin diseases.
