Manilkara maxima is a species of plant in the family Sapotaceae. It is endemic to Brazil, where it is threatened by habitat loss. It is an evergreen tree with a small, light crown; it can grow 10 - 30 metres tall. The tree is rarely harvested from the wild for its edible fruit and for medicinal applications.The green to dark borwn fruits are 25mm in diameter .It has a mucilaginous, sweetish pulp.
