Makanano (Moutabea guianensis) is a small tree, shrub or liana, growing up to 3 meters tall. The native range of this species is E. Colombia to N. South America and N. Brazil. The Plant is harvested from the wild for its edible fruit. The bright orange fruits are 3 to 4 cm in diameter fragile egg like shell. The translucid pulp is sweet and aromatic, that is highly prized by natives people.
