General Information: Small to medium-sized evergreen shrubs or trees. Native to the Philippines and Indonesia, naturalized in tropical Asia and Africa. Known as Tome-Tome, Lovi-Lovi, and Lobi-Lobi in Indonesia, Grows best in full sun and moist, well-drained soil, Tolerates sandy soil but poorly grows in waterlogged conditions
Cultivated in tropical areas for its edible fruit, Fruits produced in bunches, resembling cherries, Round and shiny, turning from light green to deep red when ripe, Crunchy but sour and acidic taste, Edible but often used for making jams, preserves, and syrups, Rich in antimicrobial agents

Planting and Care
The tree grows well on higher land if well-drained such as marls, sands or oolitic limestone. Prefers deep soils that have good drainage. The plant is drought tolerant and does not do well if over watered.
