Botanical Name: Syzygium Curranii.

Origin: Lipote is an evergreen fruit-bearing tree native to the Philippines.

Fruit Description: The fruit grows in clusters, It is small and round. It varies in color, ranging from red to dark purple, The taste of the fruit is sweet to sour. Lipote fruit is used to make various products, such as jelly, jam, and wine.

Medicinal Uses: Lipote Fruit is rich in Vitamin C, It contains antioxidants that can help reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol.

The ripe fruits have an edible portion that includes water, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, phosphorus, iron, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), and Vitamin A.

The flesh of the fruit is dried and processed into capsules or tablets. For folkloric and medicinal purposes, it is used to treat conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
