Species of evergreen shrub or tree in the family Annonaceae, Native to Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Can grow up to 20 meters tall.
Provides an edible fruit, much liked locally, often harvested from the wild, and Sometimes cultivated in home gardens. Globose fruit, 4 - 6cm in diameter. Pleasant, sweet flavor with a mealy texture.
