The Kaohsiung 4 mango, widely celebrated in Taiwan under the trade name "Honey Snow," is a premium cultivar released in 2013 by the Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station. A hybrid cross between the Kaohsiung 3 and Irwin varieties, this mango is renowned for its captivating, distinctive aroma and a lush tropical flavor profile. Physically, the fruit is identifiable by its vibrant red blush that develops upon ripening and an average weight of approximately 350 grams. With a monoembryonic seed and a moderate sweetness level—typically measuring 17° Brix—it offers a refined eating experience. For growers, the variety is highly desirable as a regular and heavy bearer, featuring semi-dwarf trees with a dense canopy that makes it well-suited for efficient orchard management.
