Mangifera griffithii is a species of flowering plant, a fruit tree in the mango family, that is native to Southeast Asia. it usually grows 20 - 30 metres tall, occasionally to 40 metres. The bole is usually free of branches for more than half its height, up to 80cm in diameter and free of buttresses. The fruit is sold in local markets, usually at a premium price compared to other mangoes due to its scarcity. The wood is also harvested, both for local use and for trade. Edible Uses The firm and rather juicy orange-yellow pulp has a sweet-sour flavour with a slight taste of burnt sugar The skin, which is about 1mm thick, is easy to remove from the fruit. The purplish-black, oblong fruit can be 35 - 40mm long and 30 - 35mm wide, containing a single, large seed
