Rare Garcinia is found in the Amazon rainforest. Easily identified by an elongated rostrate connection with the peduncle resembling a beak ("de bico" in Portuguese).
Fruit measures 5-6 cm in diameter, 6-8 cm in length, with substantial citrusy sweet pulp.
Unknown if it is dioecious, but likely similar to most Garcinias. Unknown if it is apomictic. Orange-yellow thick rind allows for a substantial hold period after picking.
Calyx leaves remnants of the sepal. Pulp forms 3-6 wedge-shaped sections, some containing seeds as common in other Garcinias.

In traditional medicine, the fruits of Garcinia have been utilized in infusions for treating wounds, ulcers, and dysentery.
