Eugenia angustissima, also known as fine leafed cherry. is a flowering shrub in the family Myrtaceae. It is native to Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil, mainly in the Cerrado and Caatinga regions. It has a very narrow and elongated leaves, shiny above and lighter on the back, with a reddish petiole. The oval or piriform fruits measuring 10-15 mm, changing from yellow, orange, red, to finally black when fully ripe. The taste is very sweet and pleasant. Its is also a beautiful ornamental plant for gardens.
