Native to the southern tip of North America.
Found in Costa Rica and Panama.
Slow-growing, precocious flowering tree.
Takes the form of a small bush if left to grow without pruning.
Yellow fruits with scant sweet and slightly spicy pulp.
Fruits have longitudinal ridging.
Typically grows directly from the trunk or main branches.
Similar to Jaboticaba in growth pattern.
Typically grows to between 1 and 1.5 meters tall.
