Medicinal Uses:
Inner bark decoction for treating colds and breathlessness, Bark or stem decoction for treating coughs.
Leaves decoction for fevers, headache, hypertension, and whooping cough. Leaf pastes for treating rheumatism, sprains, muscular pain, and contusions, and to kill botfly larvae.
Leaves are chewed as a replacement for coca leaves. Fruits are given to babies to suck during dribbling. Fruit and water from cooked root bark are used to treat spider bites.
