Copacabana guava is an evergreen shrub or small tree with a low, rounded, dense crown; it can grow 4 - 7 metres tall. It is not a guava, but a pear-shaped, fleshy fruited Eugenia, native to the coastal region of central and southern Brazil. The edible fruits are sometimes gathered from the wild for local use, though they are not widely appreciated. The fleshy small, orange fruits have a mild, lightly sweet flavor. Can bear crops multiple times a year.
