The cocona, is a tropical shrub from the Solanaceae family. The plant has sturdy branches and huge, serrate and hairy leaves. It closely resembles a number of close relatives, including naranjilla and pseudolulo.Cocona is native to the Andean region of South America, where it is occasionally cultivated for human consumption. It has a red, orange or yellow edible berry with a tomato-like aroma and a fruity, subtly vegetal, and sweet, sour flavor with mild acidity.
