General Information: Native to Southern Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Sapote fruits are highly distinctive. The flesh ranges in colour from pale yellow to earthy brown. It has a gritty texture similar to a pear. The flavour is extraordinarily sweet and malty. Each fruit is firm, glossy, and black, containing one to six seeds.
