Rare small to medium-sized tree from the Annonaceae family. Native to the jungles of South America.
Bears small to medium-sized, red-ripening fruits. Fruits have soft, creamy, edible flesh. Quite fragrant, with pulp that is said to be very tasty.

Sugar apples (Annona squamosa), which belong to the same family, are rich in vitamin C.
