General Information:
Fast-growing, evergreen forest tree, Height: 10 - 24 meters. Dense, rounded crown, Compound fruit, sweet, spiky, yellow to brown. Edible fruit is sometimes cultivated in Jamaica and Kenya. Fruit can be eaten fresh, fried with flour, or made into a type of pudding, Unripe fruit can be cooked as a vegetable or added to soups. The ripe fruit pulp is golden-yellow, slimy, strongly odoriferous (resembling durian), and sweet in flavor
