General Information:

Semideciduous shrub or small tree with a dense crown, reaching 4 - 10 meters in height.

Native to South and Southeast Brazil, as well as South America in Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia.

Harvested from the wild and locally used for food; sometimes cultivated for ornamental purposes.

The red-orange fruit features succulent, juicy, sweet pulp. Thrives in a variety of light conditions, from full sun to moderate shade.
