Like its name it is bell shaped red fruits with watery, spongy-crispy, faintly aromatic and thirst-quenching sweet flesh and its being widely eaten raw. The ripened water apple has extensive culinary uses, as it infuses a delicious essence to salads, juices, smoothies, ice creams and jams.

Planting and Care

The water apple is suited only to low altitudes in the tropics and areas where there is rainfall fairly well spaced throughout the year.
