Atherton Raspberry is a fast-growing, vining plant that will shoot from underground rhizomes. Individual canes can grow to 3-9 ft / 1-3 m. Contains small thorns. It is a wild, tropical raspberry, native to Australia and Papua New Guinea. The red, edible fruits are often gathered wild but there are some small commercial plantations as well. The berries ripen to red, with a sweet flavor that is milder than the common raspberry.
