Artocarpus dadah is a deciduous tree that can grow up to 35 metres tall. It is a tree species in the genus Artocarpus found in Myanmar to W. Malesia including Sumatra. The tree is commonly exploited from the wild for its timber, which is traded internationally. It is also harvested from the wild for local use as a food and medicine. Like jackfruit, marang and cempedak, Artocarpus dadah belongs to the mulberry family. What is striking about this species is its bright red flesh. These fruits are suitable for eating straight from the hand or for further processing. The taste is sour and aromatic.
