Annona maritima is an extremely rare member of the Annonaceae family. It is a rare and endemic plant of the Atlantic Forest of the restinga and can only be found in the states of the southern region of Brazil.The fruits ripen to yellow, with creamy white flesh, those are small, and can be consumed out of hand. The seeds are easily detached from the pulp. The fruits pulp can also be frozen for future use or immediately for making juices, sparkling wines, and jellies. The fruits are good for about 10 days after harvested if refrigerated. This tree can grow to 3-4 meters tall.
