General Information: 

Tall evergreen with canopy crown. Long, straight bole surpasses 50 meters. Edible seeds are gathered in the wild, sold locally. Valued resource, protected by locals. Fruit's outer pulp is slightly green, oily, and edible. Eaten raw or softened in warm water. Olive-like taste, popular snack among herders and children. Used as a condiment. Fruit is about 35mm long. Seed-kernel is oily, edible. Cooked seeds can be made into vegetable butter, rich in fatty acids.

Medicinal Uses:

Elemi oleoresin has diverse medicinal uses. Olives, akin to the fruit's taste, aid digestion and cholesterol. Rich in fiber, iron, and vitamin E.
